Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Location: Darien, CT (In-person required)

Compensation: ย 50% of net collection (estimated as: $137.50 per clinical hour/$200 per intake - less applicable taxes and withholdings)ย 

Employment type: W-2 Employee, Part-Time (~25 hours/week), Exempt


Sasco River Center is a mission-driven, multidisciplinary practice committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, adults, and families. We are seeking a Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality psychotherapy services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy. This role collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver integrated care, maintain ethical and clinical standards, and support meaningful, client-centered outcomes while fostering a warm, supportive therapeutic environment for the individuals and families we serve. ย Preferred candidates will have training in eating disorders and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).


Mental Health Therapist Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual, family, and couples intakes and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, couples, family, and group counseling
  • Responsible for maintaining communication regarding treatment progress to referral sources and providing aftercare plans and follow-up care
  • Ensuring the proper care of clients as mandated by the provider's ethical guidelines and in coordination with other treating professionals
  • Ensuring proper and timely documentation of services provided
  • Participate in individual and group supervision
  • Supervise unlicensed clinicians
  • Attend staff meetings, Grand Rounds, family case consultations, and trainings.
  • Collaborate with schools, medical providers, and community resources to support family-centered care.
  • Remain current in evidence-based family therapy models and professional development.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

Mental Health Therapist Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
  • Active licensure (Licensed Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, LPC) in the state of Connecticut
  • Specialized training in family systems therapy and evidence-based interventions.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, couples, and families strongly preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Must maintain or work toward valid licensure and malpractice insurance.
  • Preferred candidates will have training in eating disorders and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
