LOWBOY DRIVER

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction company located in Eldersburg, MD looking to hire a professional Lowboy Driver to join their team.
The Driver's primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of a lowboy truck to load/unload, secure equipment to trailer, and transport equipment to and from various jobsites throughout the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old
  • Valid CDL - Class A Driver's license with a good driving record (License must be the State of residence)
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip making sure truck is in safe conditions
  • Maintains telephone contact with dispatch for instructions
  • Maintains truck logs as required by the State, Federal, and Company policies and regulations
  • Ability to load heavy pieces of machinery into the trailer, crawl under the machines to secure binder chains between machine & trailer. Make sure chains are tight & secure.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and service ability of assigned truck

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to drive up to 11 hours a day
  • Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
  • Talk and hear
  • Lift and move up to 75 pounds
EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a Medical Examiner's Certificate (Health Card)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of Lowboy experience hauling equipment
