Job Description
The Make Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartment units for new residents by
ensuring they are clean, safe, and ready for occupancy. This position performs a variety of tasks including cleaning, repairs, painting, and general maintenance to bring units up to the community’s standards. Oncall duty is not required; however, overtime may be required. All activities must support the Auburn Housing Authority (“AHA” or “Authority”) and its managed agencies’ missions, strategic goals, and objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect recently vacated units and identify necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform basic repairs such as patching walls, painting, replacing fixtures, and repairing doors,
  • windows, or locks.
  • Clean units thoroughly, including kitchens, bathrooms, appliances, floors, and windows.
  • Replace or repair flooring, blinds, appliances, and hardware as needed.
  • Ensure all plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are operational and report issues to maintenance
  • supervisor if specialty repairs are required.
  • Remove trash and debris from units and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and report low stock to supervisor.
  • Work closely with the maintenance and leasing teams to prioritize unit turnarounds and meet move-in
  • deadlines.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, as needed.
  • The position must make-ready vacant units in accordance with the approved Maintenance Policy.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Exhibits requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position effectively.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work on feet for extended periods
  • Meets/exceeds the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; identifies, understands, monitors and measures the needs of both internal and external customers; talks and acts with customers in mind
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug

The base salary range for this position is $36,358.40 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
