The primary function of the office is to investigate and prosecute felony, misdemeanor, traffic, and juvenile criminal cases in concert with local and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as complaints from private citizens.

Job Summary The Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in Loudoun County, VA is currently seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney I. Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, this position will prosecute felony, misdemeanor and all traffic charges in Loudoun County, its incorporated towns, and Dulles Airport. This position will also perform prosecutorial duties ranging from research to special projects.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School (or equivalent as state law provides); licensed member of Virginia State Bar. One year of experience is preferred but not required.

Civil litigation, applicable teaching experience, military service, and professional writing experience may be considered.
