A Day in the Life:

Responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of day-to-day assigned Crush, Refinery, Milling or Packaging production operations department shift.  Support the Mgr-Production Operations in monitoring and improving plant productivity. 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries
  • Oversee assigned department production shift activities (crush, refinery, milling, packaging, warehouse, boiler house, and/or elevator) to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency
  • Ensure assigned shift is compliant with sanitation requirements.  May provide support in the monthly sanitation inspections and implementation of any corrective actions as necessary
  • Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Track and report shift productivity improvements
  • Approve daily reports and KPRs for the assigned shift
  • Report and trouble shoot operations issues
  • Provide input to the Mgr-Production Operations and/or Plant Manager to plan annual shutdowns
  • Support Process Safety Management programs, where applicable
  • Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance of assigned shift in all aspects
  • Help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement in assigned shift
  • Support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the assigned shift
  • Monitor KPR's and help develop plans to bring assigned shift in line with Operations Excellence goals
  • Periodically participate in the daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the assigned shift operations activities are aligned
  • Participate in personnel investigations and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering or related field or equivalent progressive experience of 3+ years in soybean crushing, oil refining, milling, oil packaging operations, or related and applicable activities in support of industrial operations is required
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed
  • Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule required
  • Work Schedule: 12-hour rotating shift (48 hour week/36 hour week)

The compensation range for this position is $76,120.00-$85,680.00.  In addition to the regular compensation, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
