Logan Health is seeking a dependable and professional Security Guard to join our Security team in a PRN role. This position plays an important part in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, employees, and providers.
In this role, you will be more than a visible presence. You will help protect people, support emergency response, assist staff and visitors, and contribute to the overall safety of a busy healthcare campus. What You'll Do
As a Security Guard, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment throughout assigned areas. Responsibilities include:
  • Patrol assigned premises to help prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
  • Examine doors, windows, gates, and assigned areas for security concerns or suspicious activity.
  • Interact professionally with staff, patients, visitors, and providers.
  • Escort staff, patients, and visitors to and from specific locations as requested.
  • Respond to emergency alarms, code situations, and safety concerns.
  • Assist with crowd control, evacuation, and area lockdowns as needed.
  • Complete reports and document security activity according to department guidelines.
  • Serve as a liaison between assigned areas and local law enforcement.
  • Maintain knowledge of assigned floor plans, premises, and emergency entry and exit points.
  • Investigate and report signs of damage, suspicious activity, or unlawful behavior.
  • Question and detain unauthorized or suspicious individuals when appropriate.
  • Contact local police as appropriate.
  • Support parking lot security and monitor parking areas for safety concerns.
  • Participate in security and safety functions, including trainings and drills.
  • Drive the ground ambulance as required.
  • Transport documents and/or money as necessary.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of previous security or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Must meet Montana State Security Officer licensing requirements and successfully obtain license within 30 days of hire.
  • Current driver's license required.
  • Driving record for the previous 36 months must not reflect any major driving offenses, including DUI, felony conviction involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three or more speeding tickets, or other moving violations.
  • Experience and/or training in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be a self-starter, use critical thinking skills, set priorities, and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

A flexible work schedule is required including possible holidays and weekend assignments when required.
PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
