Job description

Position: Marketing Operations Manager

Location: Remote

Overview:

We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and data-driven Marketing Operations Manager to own the reporting, measurement, and operational intelligence that enable Marketing leadership to make informed business decisions. This role serves as the operational bridge between Marketing, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Data Engineering - translating business needs into scalable reporting frameworks, standardized operating processes, and AI-enabled insights across multiple business units. This is a data- and systems-oriented role: the ideal candidate brings strong technical and analytical fluency, not a marketing-generalist background, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Performance & Analytics

  • Analyze Marketing performance across the funnel, pipeline, marketing-originated bookings, and campaign effectiveness to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, in close collaboration with Marketing and Data teams.
  • Ensure data accuracy and timeliness across automated performance scorecarding for lead-to-opportunity conversion, marketing-originated bookings, and marketing return on investment (ROMI), across all in-scope business units.
  • Analyze marketing budget performance and spend attainment to support planning and investment decisions.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

  • Own the Marketing reporting suite within the centralized BI/reporting layer, ensuring reports remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with business needs.
  • Partner with the Data Engineering team to define reporting requirements, prioritize enhancements, and validate completed work through business acceptance testing (QA/UAT).
  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting documentation, metric definitions, and reporting logic.

Marketing Measurement & Operations

  • Develop and refine measurement frameworks for campaign performance, attribution, lead scoring, pipeline source-mix tracking, and marketing ROI.
  • Create and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve marketing operations efficiency, consistency, and scalability across business units.
  • Optimize lead enrichment and lead routing processes to ensure data accuracy and seamless marketing-to-sales handoffs, including qualification standards prior to sales conversion.
  • Design and manage GTM cadences to align Marketing, Sales Development, and Sales teams for effective execution and pipeline growth.

AI & Reporting Automation

  • Support the development and operationalization of AI-enabled reporting and business insights for Marketing.
  • Assist in the design and continuous improvement of automated reporting processes and AI-generated summaries.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations and Data Engineering to identify opportunities where AI can improve reporting efficiency and decision-making.

Sales Development (SDR) Operations Support

  • Serve as the primary operations support for the sales development (SDR) function - reporting, activity data, and program cadences - partnering with Sales Operations, which retains ownership of SDR compensation and quota administration.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Marketing, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Finance, and Data Engineering to ensure reporting and operational processes support business objectives.
  • Coordinate implementation of reporting enhancements and process improvements across multiple stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted operational partner to Marketing leadership by translating data into actionable business recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in Marketing Operations, Marketing Analytics, Revenue Operations, Business Intelligence, or a related analytical/technical field.
  • Strong data analytics and BI reporting skills, including experience working in a centralized BI/reporting layer (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) rather than direct CRM access, plus advanced Excel modeling.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Strong understanding of demand generation metrics (lead qualification conversion, marketing-sourced pipeline, marketing-originated bookings), attribution, and marketing ROI.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams to define business requirements, validate reporting solutions, and improve analytics capabilities.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience managing multiple cross-functional initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, and business unit leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for both business-unit-level and centralized stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a centralized Marketing Operations or Revenue Operations organization supporting multiple business units.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with SQL or the ability to work effectively with Data Engineering teams on reporting requirements.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted reporting, business intelligence automation, or generative AI tools.
  • Exposure to sales development (SDR) operations - activity reporting, tooling, and program cadences.

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate is a curious, highly analytical, and results-oriented professional who enjoys solving business problems through data, process, and technology - not a marketer who moved into operations. They are comfortable partnering with both business and technical stakeholders, translating ambiguous questions into reporting and operational solutions, and are excited to contribute to the evolution of Marketing Operations through automation and AI.
