Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a LVN for our assisted living facility. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Nurses, the Licensed Vocational Nurse provides direct nursing care to residents in a 24 hour operation and delegates and supervises the care provided by nursing assistants. Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, obtains specimens as needed, and completes documentation as required.
Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in assisting in the daily operation of the nursing department in accordance with current nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations and as directed by the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and/or Administrator to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.
Accountabilities:
  • Provide daily supervision to assigned staff and directly provides nursing care to residents in our Assisted Living facilities.
  • Assesses residents on a regular basis for nursing needs and completes required record keeping forms/charts within the LVN licensure standards.
  • Assists residents with Activities of Daily Life, family/social activities and actively promotes independent life-style of residents.
  • Responds to residents call system promptly and courteously.
  • Supervises the care provided by nursing assistants
  • Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, and obtains specimens as needed.

Qualifications
  1. State of Texas license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  2. Must be able to evaluate and make decisions in emergency situations.
  3. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental agencies/personnel and the general public in all circumstances.
  4. Must be able to push a minimum of 200 lbs and be able to push such weight a minimum distance of 200 ft.
