Job description

Turner Auto Care in Webster, NY is looking for an experienced A-Level Automotive Technician with strong diagnostic ability to join our team. If you’re a professional technician who can independently diagnose drivability and electrical issues and wants a shop that respects your skillset, we’d love to meet you.

We offer a 4-day work week, modern equipment, a supportive team, and a drama-free environment where technicians can focus on doing quality work.

The Technician We’re Looking For:
This position is for an experienced A-level technician who can confidently diagnose and repair today’s vehicles.

Our ideal teammate:
  • Has strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Can independently diagnose drivability issues and check-engine light.
  • Has 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
  • Works well in a team-oriented shop environment.
  • Wants a long-term career home, not just another job.
  • Holds a valid NYS Driver’s License and NYS Inspector License.
  • Has their own professional tools and toolbox.

Highly valued skills:
  • ASE certifications (or willingness to pursue them).
  • Welding and custom exhaust fabrication experience.
  • Experience using modern scan tools and diagnostic equipment.

Important:
This is not an entry-level or training position. We're looking for a technician who can independently diagnose and repair vehicles with minimal supervision.

Technicians applying should be comfortable performing proper diagnostics and electrical testing — not simply replacing parts.
What Your Day Looks Like:
  • Diagnosing drivability and electrical issues using professional scan tools and testing procedures.
  • Troubleshooting check-engine lights and complex vehicle systems.
  • Repairing steering, suspension, brake, and drivetrain systems.
  • Performing digital inspections and documenting vehicle condition.
  • Communicating findings with service advisors and team members.
  • Mentoring or assisting other technicians when needed.

We schedule time for proper diagnostics and support technicians in solving problems correctly — not guessing or “throwing parts” at vehicles.

Why Technicians Like Working Here:
4-Day Work Week:
  • Monday–Thursday | 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Enjoy every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.

Competitive Pay:
  • $30–$35/hr depending on experience.
  • Weekly performance bonus opportunities

Benefits & Perks:
  • Paid weekly
  • Paid Time Off & paid holidays.
  • Healthcare options.
  • Uniforms provided.
  • Annual boot allowance.
  • Paid training & continuing education.
  • n-house training opportunities.
  • Snacks, drinks, and regular team lunches
Modern Shop & Equipment: We invest in our technicians with the tools needed to do the job right.
  • Hunter alignment rack.
  • Snap-On tire equipment.
  • A/C service machines.
  • Professional diagnostic and electrical testing equipment.
  • Tablets for digital inspections.
  • Dedicated workstation with computer access.
About Turner Auto Care:
Turner Auto Care has proudly served the Webster community for over 50 years. Since taking ownership in 2014, Scott and Vicki have continued building a shop focused on professionalism, integrity, and customer trust.
We service all makes and models, performing everything from routine maintenance to complex repairs, including:
  • Steering & suspension.
  • Brake systems.
  • Alignments.
  • Electrical diagnostics.
  • Check-engine light diagnosis.
  • Engine and transmission replacement.
  • Custom exhaust work
Our mission is simple:
Keep customers safe, help them understand their vehicles, and build relationships that last.
If You're an Experienced Diagnostic Technician who takes pride in your work and wants to join a team that values skill, integrity, and quality repairs, we'd love to talk.

Whether you're actively looking or simply curious about what else is out there, we're happy to have a confidential conversation.
