Job description

Job Title: Automobile Transport Driver (Drive Team)

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Based in Northeast Ohio (Akron area)

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Automobile Transport Driver to join our dealership drive team. In this role, you will travel with a team to regional auto auctions within a 400-mile radius of Akron, Ohio, and drive newly purchased vehicles back to our dealership locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Transport & Travel: Ride with the drive team to regional auto auction sites (up to 400 miles from the Akron area).

  • Vehicle Relocation: Safely operate newly purchased auction vehicles—ranging from sedans to light trucks—on return routes to the dealership.

  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-drive safety inspections (fluids, tires, brakes, lights) on purchased vehicles before departure.

  • Logistics & Paperwork: Complete inventory movement forms, log mileage, and report any pre-existing mechanical issues or damage to team leaders immediately.

  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all traffic laws, speed limits, and safety regulations during transport.

Qualifications

  • License: Valid Driver’s License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of safe driving experience.

  • Capabilities: Ability to operate diverse vehicle makes, models, and transmissions.

  • Stamina: Comfortable with long highway drives (8–10+ hour round trips) and extended periods of sitting.

  • Teamwork: Strong communication skills and a cooperative attitude when traveling with the drive team.

  • Requirements: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
