Job description

Benefits:
  • Paid time off

$18/hour | Flexible Schedule | Meaningful Work

Greetings everyone. My name is Claire. I am posting here today with the hopes of meeting six people. The people who can be described as people with heart and people with passion but more on that in a minute.
You see, there is a story behind my work and this post and here it goes.
I am an educator and former school principal turned nurse, turned nurse entrepreneur and geriatric wellness expert. Yes, education was my first love and my second love is nursing.
If you ask my mother, she would tell you that I have never met a stranger.
I was that girl who would go down the street to find someone to help and would stop and carry the groceries for the elderly neighbor and feed all the stray cats and lonely dogs that I could find.
During nursing school, I developed a true inquiring mind, and I could not sit still because I was pulled by various areas of health care. I worked in a long-term care community and I soon became pulled by the emotional and psychosocial needs of most older adults who live in long term care.
Many of them are sad and although they are amongst others, many feel lonely and left behind. I made myself a promise that I would take interest in those older adults and find a way to make them smile and feel happy even if it was just for a short time.
Through all my work seasons as a former teacher, a school principal, a nurse, a clinical chaplain, and now, a nurse entrepreneur, one truth has never changed: people need human connection.

Thats why I started this program to bring kindness, laughter, and companionship to older adults in nursing homes and long-term care centers.
So, here is where you come in. I am in search of people with heart, and people with passion. I call these people Resident Comfort Specialists, and their job is simple yet life-changing: to bring joy and comfort to someone who feels forgotten. The job is very simple and very fulfilling.

As a Resident Comfort Specialist, you might spend your day with a resident doing any or all of the following:
  • Reading or telling stories
  • Watching a favorite TV show together
  • Singing along to old songs
  • Decorating a small tabletop Christmas tree
  • Or simply sitting beside someone who needs company
And yes youll be paid $18 an hour for this beautiful work. Its a job that fills your heart as much as your bank account.
All you need are three things:

  1. A degree in compassion. This is supposed to make your laugh because there is no degree in Compassion. You just need to be kind and gentle.
  2. A clean background check
  3. Your ID and Social Security number (so we can pay you!)
Well introduce you to the care team at the facility, guide you through the process, and help you start making a difference right away.
If youve been looking for work that truly means something this is it.
Youll be paid to make someone smile.
And youll go home knowing you helped another human being feel seen, valued, and loved.
Come join our team of compassionate companions.
We cant wait to meet you.
Please respond with a good phone number and an email that you check regularly
Thanks and wishing you a beautiful week ahead.
