Inbound Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily route planning for all inbound shipments to maximize route efficiency and customer satisfaction/experience.
  • Schedules and assigns tasks for dock planning and setup.
  • Ensures timely delivery of freight.
  • Observes loading and/or unloading of trucks for proper handling and distribution of freight for transport.
  • Supervise operations, procedures, and freight movement.
  • Enforces all safety measures in regard to balance of freight for safe operation of trucks.
  • Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations.
  • Trains new dock employees and counsels dock personnel with feedback, coaching and discipline as needed for improved job performance.
  • Creates and maintains a teamwork environment with employees.
  • Coordinates drivers and assigns trucks and delivery routes for delivery of freight.
  • Maintains equipment and facility for effective, clean and safe operations.
  • Manage cost goals at all levels of the terminal.
  • Manage satellite terminal Bremerton to include, but not limited, to the following items
    • Morning communication on manpower planning and coverage
    • Daily contact and communication with driver lead and drivers
    • Dispatch coordination for pickups
    • Monitoring and managing metrics

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in LTL freight, logistics or transportation.
  • Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Must have good computer skills (AS/400 & MS Office a plus).
  • Possess excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred.
  • Must have strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills.
  • Must be available to work up to 50 hours/week average.
  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
