Job Summary:

The ENA Region Logistics Manager serves as a key operational and strategic leader responsible for optimizing Hydro's transportation network, fleet assets, and carrier performance. This role blends hands on operational oversight with forward looking planning, ensuring that logistics activities align with business goals, financial targets, and evolving market conditions. The manager drives efficiency across Hydro's dedicated and owned fleets, partners closely with Procurement and plant operations, and leverages data to guide decision making and continuous improvement. Success in this position requires strong analytical capability, deep understanding of logistics operations, and proficiency across key business systems to support reliable, cost effective, and high quality transportation performance.

What you will be doing

Fleet & Carrier Utilization

The Region Logistics Manager will oversee the performance, efficiency, and costeffectiveness of region transportation assets through consistent reporting and operational oversight, including:

  • Dedicated Fleet Performance - Weekly driver and mileage reporting to ensure optimal utilization of dedicated fleet resources.
  • Hydro Asset Utilization - Management of flatbeds, Conestogas, scrap trailers, power units, and other Hydro-owned equipment, including tracking maintenance and repair costs.
  • Fleet Efficiency - Continuous evaluation of Hydro's owned fleet to identify opportunities for improved productivity and cost savings.
  • Internal Driver Reporting - Support oversight and reporting of Hydro-employed drivers to ensure compliance, efficiency, and performance alignment.
  • Claims Management - Resolution of transportation-related claims in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Strategic Planning

This role plays a critical part in shaping and executing logistics strategy across applicable regions:

  • Strategic Alignment - Develop and execute logistics strategies that support Hydro's broader business and financial objectives.
  • Market Intelligence - Monitor and interpret market conditions to provide timely business updates and guide operational adjustments; conducted at least quarterly or as market conditions require.
  • Procurement Partnership - Collaborate with Procurement to secure competitive carrier rates, provide operational insights, and ensure accurate deployment of rates within the TMS.

Analytics

The Region Logistics Manager will leverage data to drive operational excellence:

  • Data Interpretation & Problem Solving - Analyze logistics data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Business Alignment Through Reporting - Use reporting tools and market insights to equip the business with actionable information that supports achievement of annual plans.

Software & Systems

Success in this role requires strong technical proficiency across logistics and business platforms:

  • Microsoft Suite - Proficiency in Outlook 365, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI for communication, reporting, and analytics.
  • Transportation Management Systems - Experience with multiple TMS platforms to support routing, rating, and carrier management.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, International Business a plus or equivalent experience in leading Logistics & Transportation teams
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience leading logistics/transportation teams
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, carrier management and contract negotiations.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop long-term plans.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software, programs, and databases such as Excel, Word, Microsoft X, SAP, Oracle, TMS and Quality Management systems.
