Job description

The Logistics Management Specialist will provide critical logistics support to the Launched Effects Division (LE) Division Chief for Program Management Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (PM UAS) that spans the acquisition life-cycle framework. Assures that critical actions are integrated and properly executed to provide a cohesive approach to logistics support requirements. Plans, directs, coordinates, manages areas of the logistics program which encompasses the operations and activities related to logistical support provided to the Program Executive Office (PEO) Project Management Office (PMO)/Program Management Office (PMO). Has the responsibility and authority for integration of separate functions to include funding, supply, maintenance, procurement, provisioning, transportation/transportability, new equipment training and fielding of assigned systems and/or equipment for the logistics management program throughout the entire lifecycle of assigned systems.
Logistics Management Specialist shall possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Knowledge and experience in DoD Acquisitions and specifications to ensure product planning, development, acquisition, fielding plans, schedules, and strategies
  • Knowledge andexperience with AR 770-3 and DA PAM 770-3 to obtain a weapon System TypeClassification (TC) and Materiel Release (MR). The candidate will haveexperience with the processes and staffing of TC and MR packages through theproper Functional Authority's (FA). Have knowledge of the different Materielreleases for both hardware and software. Experience with inputting MR data inthe Materiel Release Tracking System (MRTS). Tracks/monitors MRTS get wellplanning dates and conditions. Informs the Product Support Manager (PSM) ofrequired get well extension request. Holds TC/MR Integrated Product Teams(IPT), prepares briefing materials, tracks meeting minutes, maintains actionitem tracker.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensure logistics considerations are integrated into system design to enhance reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Write, manage, and staff acquisition logistics documentation
  • Provide briefings, presentations, and written reports to leadership, management and peers.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams etc.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
  • Work with members of the LE Division Team, as required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Current Secret Security Clearance
  • At least 8 years of acquisition experience in a United States Army Project Offices or supporting LCMCs required.
  • Participation in technical Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings or coordinating with engineers and technical staff.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
  • Experience working in a DOD field
  • Microsoft Office 365 Tools
  • US citizenship is required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 8 years of related logistics experience with a BA/BS or 16 years of logistics experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

REQUIRED TRAVEL:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. issued passport
  • Travel is expected up to 25%
