Position Summary
The National Logistics Manager is responsible for developing, leading, and optimizing the organization's national logistics strategy across all manufacturing locations. This position provides leadership for transportation, warehousing, inventory movement, accessories fulfillment, freight optimization, SAP logistics processes, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and enterprise logistics improvement initiatives.
This leader is accountable for ensuring products and accessories are delivered accurately, on time, and cost effectively while supporting daily operational execution and achievement of company revenue objectives. The role partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Sales, Finance, IT, Procurement, and Executive Leadership to continuously improve logistics performance, customer satisfaction, and operating efficiency.
The National Logistics Manager serves as the enterprise owner of logistics processes and systems while driving continuous improvement initiatives that support scalable growth across the organization.
Essential Functions
National Logistics Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company's national logistics strategy supporting business growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for Plant Logistics Managers and logistics personnel across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Establish standardized logistics processes, operating procedures, and performance expectations across all locations.
  • Promote collaboration and best-practice sharing between plants to improve consistency and execution.
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, customer service, and operational excellence.

Transportation Management
  • Own enterprise inbound and outbound transportation performance.
  • Develop freight strategies that balance cost, service, and delivery performance.
  • Monitor freight spend against budget and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Evaluate carrier performance and negotiate transportation solutions when appropriate.
  • Manage relationships with common carriers, freight brokers, parcel providers, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize transportation disruptions.

Warehouse & Distribution Operations
  • Provide oversight of warehouse operations supporting manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure safe, efficient material movement and storage practices.
  • Improve warehouse productivity, space utilization, and inventory flow.
  • Standardize warehouse operating procedures across all facilities.

Inventory & Accessories Fulfillment
  • Lead enterprise accessories fulfillment operations ensuring customer orders are complete and shipped accurately.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions to improve inventory integrity.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to reduce inventory discrepancies and improve material availability.
  • Support cycle counting, inventory controls, and inventory optimization initiatives.

SAP & Systems Leadership
  • Serve as the business owner for SAP logistics processes.
  • Lead implementation of SAP enhancements and continuous system improvements.
  • Partner with IT on integrated systems projects involving logistics, inventory management, shipping, warehousing, and reporting.
  • Develop standardized reporting and dashboard capabilities supporting operational decision-making.

Operational Execution
  • Support daily production and shipping activities to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Customer Experience to proactively resolve shipment issues.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly shipment execution against revenue targets.
  • Coordinate cross-functional responses to logistics disruptions.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and retain high-performing logistics professionals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and establish individual development plans.
  • Foster collaboration across Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Procurement, Finance, and IT.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives impacting logistics operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive logistics, transportation, or supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Multi-site leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing transportation networks, warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Advanced SAP logistics experience required.
  • Experience leading enterprise systems implementations and cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated success improving logistics KPIs and reducing transportation costs.
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers and carrier relationships.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees and other individuals.
  • Ability to function effectively with moderate to high levels of stress in a demanding and dynamic environment.
  • Able to wear prescribed personal protective equipment and appropriate clothing.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Effectively read, write, speak, and communicate in English fluently.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to walk, bend, climb, crouch, lean, reach, and other physical movements as required to effectively and efficiently perform duties.
  • Work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment, including noise, extreme temperatures and humidity, odors, dust, etc.
  • Effectively use a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, as well as commonly used equipment and software to complete necessary functions.
  • Finger dexterity, visual acuity, discernment of sounds, color, and texture.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise environments, chemicals used in the process, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.
