Overview
The Fountainhead Group is seeking a Production Planner / Scheduler to support manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Production Control and Logistics, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that support customer demand while optimizing manufacturing capacity, labor, materials, inventory levels, and on-time delivery. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Materials, Sales, Engineering, and Quality to ensure production requirements are understood and executed efficiently.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer requirements, inventory levels, available capacity, and manufacturing priorities.
  • Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing supervisors and department leaders.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays, material shortages, equipment downtime, staffing issues, or changing customer requirements.
  • Work closely with purchasing and materials management to ensure required raw materials, components, and outside services are available when needed.
  • Maintain accurate planning data, production orders, lead times, and scheduling information within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service regarding production commitments and changes to customer requirements.
  • Coordinate weekly production meetings and provide updates regarding current and upcoming production requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and planning reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow.
  • Experience working with an ERP/MRP system; experience with Epicor/Kinetic preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing requirements and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications is a plus.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
