POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Manager plays a critical leadership role in designing, optimizing, and executing a best-in-class logistics strategy that delivers reliable, cost-effective, and scalable solutions across all Boelter divisions. This role owns carrier performance, contract compliance, import/export operations, and enterprise freight reporting-while continuously pushing for smarter processes, stronger partnerships, and better customer outcomes.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on, energetic leader who thrives on solving complex problems, leveraging data, and influencing across all levels of the organization. The Logistics Manager is both a strategic thinker and an operational driver, bringing innovation, accountability, and momentum to everything they do.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Develop, implement, and continuously evolve a comprehensive domestic and international freight and logistics strategy that supports organizational growth.
  • Own logistics performance end-to-end by establishing meaningful KPIs, analyzing trends, and delivering timely, insight-driven reporting.
  • Lead carrier strategy including bid evaluations, contract negotiations, compliance, and ongoing performance management of carriers and 3PL partners.
  • Drive cost containment and optimization initiatives through data-backed analysis, negotiation, and process improvements-without compromising service.
  • Champion process standardization and scalability while maintaining a strong customer-first mindset.
  • Serve as the logistics subject matter expert (SME), building credibility and trust across sales, operations, finance, and leadership teams.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to design win-win logistics solutions that enhance customer experience and profitability.
  • Manage day-to-day import and export operations, ensuring service excellence, compliance, and cost discipline.
  • Resolve complex logistics issues and customer concerns with urgency, ownership, and professionalism.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, proactively developing plans to stay ahead of market shifts.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure logistics systems and integrations (ERP, TMS, carrier tools) are optimized and driving productivity and visibility.
  • Enable accurate, timely freight estimates to support pricing and order processing activities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive logistics leadership experience in a distribution setting.
  • Proven success using data and analytics to improve cost, service, and efficiency.
  • Strong experience negotiating with domestic carriers, international freight providers, and 3PLs.
  • Deep understanding of domestic transportation and import/export compliance requirements.
  • ERP experience required; SAP strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize, and execute multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the energy to challenge the status quo and drive change.
