Operations Associate
Maryland Hillel
Role Overview
Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Maryland Hillel as our Operations Associate. In this role, you'll support the efficient, day-to-day functioning of our organization - helping build the systems, processes, and infrastructure that allow our programs and community to thrive at the University of Maryland. You'll be the kind of person who finds satisfaction in making things work well behind the scenes, and who understands that strong operations are what allow great mission-driven work to happen.
What You'll Do
  • Support daily operations and help maintain efficient workflows across all departments
  • Assist in developing and improving organizational systems, policies, and procedures
  • Manage calendars, internal communications, and documentation
  • Help ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations
  • Coordinate with finance staff or external accountants on reporting and audits
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the internship program, supporting staffing logistics and training in collaboration with leadership
  • Support building security protocols and assist with emergency management planning
  • Assist with event logistics on a case-by-case basis, including room bookings, facilities, and catering
  • Assist with database and website maintenance, including data entry, record updates, and basic reporting across platforms such as Salesforce, WordPress, and MailChimp; training provided for the right candidate
  • Help create and manage forms for registrations, surveys, and donations
What You'll Bring to the Job
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of operations, administration, or project management experience, preferably in a nonprofit
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail
  • Comfortable learning new software and digital tools
