Position: SSN Tomahawk Trainer/Logistics & Fleet Support (LFS)

Nature of Role: This position requires an experienced candidate to provide curriculum development and platform instruction for all SSN Tomahawk Weapons System (TWS) variants and provide real time fleet support for Strike to include ISEA, Chat, and technical support.

Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to:

  • Aid in the development and testing of all SSN Tomahawk Weapon Systems (TWS) currently fielded in the submarine force.
  • Assist in writing documentation for TWS, including the TTWCS User’s Guide (TUG) and the Track & Overlay Management Guide (TOM).
  • Provide TWS Tomahawk Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to the Tactical Advisory Group (TAG) during documentation revision cycles.
  • Attend client meetings to track process design, requirements gathering efforts, and to know external stakeholders.
  • Conduct software installs for the SSN TWS systems onboard and provide On the Job (OJT) operator and maintenance training during each installation.
  • Provide technical assistance to any platform in need. Support will be provided via onsite visits (when possible), email, phone, and chat.
  • During Tactical Tomahawk operations, support a 24 hour “War Room” and monitor the strikes via chat to provide real-time technical assistance.
  • As the SME, assist the Submarine Learning Center (SLC) with Strike curriculum development for the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons System (TTWS).
  • Provide platform instruction and SME support during TWS Modernization Training Team (MTT) Phase I conducts.
  • Provide “upon request” training for all fielded TTWS variants currently in the Fleet. This training can be conducted in-port or underway for any SSN platform in need of additional help getting ready for Tactical evaluations, Pre-Overseas Movement (POM) certifications or after long periods in the shipyard.
  • Provide TWS Maintenance Training on-site at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport RI.
  • The individual requires NMCI SIPR.
  • The individual will be seated in SC2 at NUWC.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Fire Control Technician (FT) or Fire Controlman (FC) (E-6 or above) with 8+ years of relevant technical/tactical tomahawk experience is required.
  • Software proficiency; thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, technical drawing software tools.
  • Ability to extrapolate requirements from multiples sources and consolidate into a single, comprehensive document.
  • Excellent verbal and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrate proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Understands program/project management principles and procedures in governmental agencies.
  • Experience working in a technical environment and creating technical documents.
  • Knowledge of best practices of document creation and communications principles.
  • Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualified is preferred.
  • Experience with;
    • US Naval operations and tactical/technical publications.
    • Intelligence Situation Analysis Tool (ISAT)
    • Global Command and Control System – Maritime (GCCS-M).
    • Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM).
    • The Navy’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
    • Experience or exposure to work related to Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

Travel Required: Yes. Up to 30%
