As a Logistics Intern supporting our Power Only Trailer Team, you will gain hands-on experience in the operational and analytical aspects of equipment management. This team is responsible for optimizing the use of company trailers to support logistics loads, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. You will work on projects that directly impact our ability to manage equipment effectively and deliver exceptional service.
Actively participate in an accelerated hands-on learning program while providing research and analytical support to various departments and/or project teams. Routinely report out to leadership.
  • Perform functions of assigned area.
  • Provide analytical support to assigned project team(s) or department(s).
  • Conduct research related to transportation industry as well as assigned project team or department.
  • Routinely meet with assigned mentors and/or leaders and provide summary of key take-aways.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    Analyze trailer utilization data to verify equipment return status, identify idle time, and uncover trends that impact cost and efficiency.
  • Process Improvement:
    Assist in developing and refining systems and workflows that improve trailer management, reduce downtime, and enhance accountability.
  • Operational Support:
    Collaborate with team members to source and provide the most efficient trailer solutions for power-only loads, ensuring timely and cost-effective operations.
  • Carrier Compliance:
    Support efforts to monitor and hold carriers accountable for trailer misuse, helping maintain operational integrity and cost control.
  • Research & Innovation:
    Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging technologies to recommend improvements in trailer management and logistics processes.
  • Leadership Interaction:
    Routinely meet with mentors and leaders to share insights, present findings, and contribute ideas that drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
  • Transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Must possess desire to learn and grow in knowledge of the transportation industry and company.
  • Must be flexible and able to quickly grasp and apply new information and/or concepts.
  • Must possess excellent and professional communication skills.
  • Must possess basic understanding of business terminology.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Completion of 70% of undergraduate course work in business related Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, Logistics) required.

Pay Range: $17 - $22 Hourly
