Job description

Senior Financial Analyst – Supply Chain

Our Opportunity:

Chewy seeks a highly motivated, analytical, and confident Senior Financial Analyst – Supply Chain Finance to join our Supply Chain Finance Team, in our Plantation, FL headquarters. Combining an understanding of finance, strong practical knowledge of financial statements and using data to make-and-drive decisions. You will need to be a thorough, self-starter with experience working in an ambiguous environment, preferably within an e-commerce organization, including rolling up your sleeves to complete complex business analysis, having strong SQL skills, and operating at depth. You will be responsible for supporting financial metrics, auditing and analytics for supply chain, supporting forecasting and long-term planning processes, while also innovating to refine financial models and strategic goals to incorporate new takeaways and new data. This candidate will perform complex analysis to support key decisions, drive growth, and ensure financial objectives are achieved. This individual will partner with key decision makers across the organization to provide analytical and financial support.

What You'll Do:

  • Effectively manage numerous projects at a given time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Aid in the weekly and monthly financial reporting and help identify and define key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall business performance.
  • Coordinate month-end close process and manage/track financial performance against KPI’s.
  • Partner with Team Members and cross-functional leaders in Transportation and Supply Chain and lead weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial review and forecasting processes to identify planning assumptions for key business drivers and track performance while explaining variances to plan and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Recognize and propose analysis influencing business partners and finance leaders to drive positive changes in the business.
  • Extract and analyze data from central databases using Hyperion, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Challenge current processes to find efficiency improvements while maintaining data integrity.
  • Perform modeling and analytics required to synthesize large sets of data and produce concise outputs to convey recommendation and/or conclusions to leadership.

What You'll Need:

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • Advance SQL skills
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills and experience in key performance indicators, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Comfort in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Advanced Excel (i.e. VLOOKUP/Index Match, SUMIFS, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Ability to think creatively, self-start, work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines / prioritize changing workloads, while still delivering to expectations.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills
  • Results-oriented mentality, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality
  • Strong Communication skills – ability to distill and convey complex information messages clearly and succinctly
  • Ability to drill down to the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture

Bonus:

  • Previous experience in supply chain or logistics finance.
  • 3-5 years relevant finance experience with a basic understanding of GAAP and strong grasp of financial statements
  • Experience with Tableau, Hyperion SmartView, Oracle ERP.
  • Familiarity with an e-commerce or retail business model.
  • MBA and/or CPA
