Requirements

Position Summary: 

The Logistics Coordinator is a highly visible supply chain role within the ABEC organization that will oversee all material handling and transportation requirements. This is a hands-on position responsible for inventory management and on-time customer shipments at a level that will enable ABEC' team to meet business objectives. This position manages inventory through ERP system and coordinates all outbound and inbound transportation requirements. Collaboration with manufacturing, subcontractors, transportation providers,  quality, and other members of operations is paramount to achieve ABEC's business objectives. This role also drives continuous improvement implementation throughout the logistics process. This role participates as cross-functional team member within assigned goal-oriented team responsibility. 


Responsibilities: 

  • International shipment experience including all applicable import and export documentation including tariffs and harmonization codes. 
  • DHL and FedEx shipping experience required.  
  • Perform all inventory management transactions for materials used throughout DC operations process. 
  • Support replenishment of Kanban materials through the Purchase Order Requisition process.  
  • Perform required data entry into ERP system to reflect movement of materials to DC manufacturing 
  • Prepare, package, and issue materials to DC Manufacturing in accordance with Job Orders and Pick Lists ensuring accuracy of part number, quantity, and Lot or Serial number. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts in both the stockroom locations and ERP system. 
  • Conduct cycle counts to reconcile inventory levels between stockroom and ERP system. 
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies involving proper identification, quantity, or location of materials. 
  • Organize and arrange all customer, manufacturing transfers, subcontractor, and return goods shipments. 
  • Partner with other ABEC sites to support international shipment requirements. 
  • Ensure all necessary activities and paperwork required to process shipments. 
  • Prepare all required documentation including but not limited to B.O.L., export documentation, shipper's letter of instruction. 
  • Resolve issues associated with transportation, import and export, and logistics. 
  • Ensure orders are in compliance with regulations, policies, laws and requirements. 
  • Ensure truck / container / air shipments fall within the required weight limits and dimensions. 
  • File freight claims with Transportation Provider and manage the closure of a claim with Accounting. 
  • Verify that all transportation charges are accurate and resolve any discrepancies. 
  • Keep ABEC system and appropriate ABEC DC personnel updated on the status of shipments. 
  • Drive Corrective Action initiatives and actively participate in their resolution. 
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity. 
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis. 

Qualifications  

  • Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience in manufacturing and  or warehouse environment. 
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with both internal and external organizations. 
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment. 
  • Proven problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks of equal importance concurrently.  
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with exceptional organizational capabilities. 
  • Ability to challenge the status quo to evolve business in more efficient and effective manner. 
  • Ability to work in a global environment and to travel.  
  • Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus. 
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus. 

Desired attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
