How Your Role Fits In

The Logistics Support Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the transportation team by accurately entering load information into the Transportation Management System (TMS), monitoring shipment statuses, communicating with carriers on load statuses, and escalating service issues to the appropriate team member. This position plays a critical role in ensuring load data integrity, shipment visibility, and proactive issue resolution throughout the transportation process.

What you’ll do:

  • Generate and email the daily available load list to carrier network.
  • Create loads in the TMS.
  • Schedule pick-up and delivery appointments through scheduling portals, phone calls, and email.
  • Verify accuracy of shipment details including pickup and delivery appointments, rates, commodities, equipment requirements, temperature requirements and special instructions.
  • Enter carrier and customer pricing and tender loads to assigned carriers.
  • Update shipment records and maintain accurate load and rate documentation throughout the load lifecycle.
  • Execute load status checks through email, texting, or phone calls.
  • Update status of loads in TMS and any relevant customer systems. Maintain visibility by proactively contacting carriers for updates.
  • Escalate any scheduling, customer order discrepancies, or carrier service failures to appropriate team members.
  • Gather and enter carrier tracking information each day.
  • Collaborate with Transportation Coordinators to provide administrative support when needed.
  • Create and maintain high level of satisfaction with all customers and carriers.

What it takes to succeed:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: Prior experience in a support or administrative role
  • Computer Skill: Experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be comfortable making phone calls
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
