Job description

Logistics Guide - Columbus, OH (On-Site)
Help shape the future of healthcare and life science logistics.
At Mercury, we move shipments that matter - diagnostic kits, medical devices, and life-saving materials that fuel innovation in healthcare and life sciences. Our clients count on us for speed, precision, and peace of mind.
We're growing fast, and we're looking for a Logistics Guide - someone who thrives on solving complex problems, taking ownership, and delivering world-class service every single day. This is not a back-office role. It's hands-on, fast-moving, and essential to helping clients achieve what matters most.
What You'll Do
As a Logistics Guide, you'll be the heartbeat of the client experience - monitoring shipments in motion, resolving issues in real time, and providing expert guidance on the best shipping solutions for each situation. You'll work alongside an incredible team and under the mentorship of a Squad Leader, serving clients who are advancing global healthcare.
  • Own the client experience:
Be the first point of contact for clients - by email, phone, and portal - to ensure every shipment moves smoothly from pickup to delivery.
  • Deliver fast, accurate solutions:
Recommend the right service level based on urgency, temperature, and risk. Act fast when problems arise - coordinate with carriers and internal partners to keep shipments on track.
  • Monitor shipments in real time:
Track every movement, anticipate potential delays, and communicate updates before clients ask.
  • Master the details:
Review domestic and international documents for accuracy, compliance, and customs readiness.
  • Use smart tools:
Work in our internal Transportation Management System, and Mercury CRM to keep data clean, organized, and actionable.
  • Collaborate & improve:
Partner with teammates, carriers, and the operations leadership to identify better processes and eliminate friction for clients.

Who You Are
You're resourceful, confident, and thrive under pressure. You love to solve problems, work with people, and find satisfaction in seeing your shipments arrive right and on time. You're motivated by ownership - and you don't wait for someone else to fix things.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in logistics, customer support, or operations (healthcare or life sciences a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under tight deadlines
  • Proactive problem-solver with a high sense of urgency and accountability
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable learning new tools and systems in a startup environment
  • Positive, team-oriented, and driven to continuously improve

Why Mercury
We're not just a shipping company - we're a trusted partner to innovators across diagnostics, research, and medical technology. Our mission is to make logistics invisible, so our clients can focus on what's next in healthcare.
At Mercury, you'll find:
  • A fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same
  • A culture that rewards ownership, growth, and problem-solving
  • Real career paths - many of our current Squad Leaders started as Logistics Guides
  • The opportunity to make an impact in an industry that truly matters

If you're ready to move fast, think critically, and support the shipments that move healthcare forward - join us at Mercury.
