Job description

Connection is looking for a Logistics Analyst to join our Freight Logistics team and help support a more centralized, consistent freight operation. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving freight challenges, working with carriers and internal teams, supporting customers, and digging into the details behind rates, quotes, billing, claims, and shipment activity.

As part of this team, you will support Sales, Customer Care, Finance, vendors, carriers, distribution partners, customers, and our TIDC team with freight quoting, routing guidance, shipment tracking, carrier coordination, freight claims, billing questions, accessorial charges, cargo insurance, and issue resolution. If you have experience or exposure in LTL, FTL, parcel, dispatching, freight audit, billing, transportation support, or carrier operations, this could be a strong next step.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for freight, logistics, transportation, and carrier-related inquiries.
  • Provide freight quotes, routing guidance, and shipping solutions for FTL, LTL, parcel, small parcel, and heavyweight shipments.
  • Coordinate shipment re-routes, carrier pickups, tracking requests, proof of delivery, address corrections, short shipments, missed deliveries, and freight claims.
  • Audit, analyze, and resolve freight billing, invoicing, accessorial charges, cargo insurance, and claim-related issues with accuracy and urgency.
  • Work with vendors and carriers to resolve service, delivery, contract, rate, or cost-related concerns.
  • Partner with TIDC, Sales, Customer Care, and Finance on freight questions, escalations, and process improvements.
  • Educate internal teams on freight fundamentals, policies, quoting practices, and best practices.
  • Support freight projects, cross-functional initiatives, training, and continuous improvement efforts.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • 2+ years of relevant experience; 4 years of experience is preferred for full proficiency.
  • Associateโ€™s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience or exposure in freight, logistics, transportation, dispatching, carrier coordination, LTL, FTL, parcel, small parcel, billing, freight audit, or customer support.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and working with data, queries, rates, and reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems and web-based applications; ERP experience, such as JD Edwards, is helpful.
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing quotes, invoices, contracts, billing discrepancies, freight data, and service issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain freight issues clearly to customers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset, strong listening skills, and the ability to follow freight matters through to resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills, documentation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Why Join Us

Freight plays a direct role in the customer experience from quote through delivery. In this role, your work will help strengthen communication between teams, improve consistency in freight support, and bring greater visibility and accountability to a function that continues to grow in importance across the business.
