About the job

We are looking for a Logistics Associate to join our growing team in New York. This role will work closely with the logistics associates, driver, and station manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Collection/Delivery - Operates all assigned vehicles, single, tandem, or multi axle configurations, forklifts, etc. in accordance with established safety standards, proper vehicle operation techniques and specified time schedules. Acts as the face of Shengsheng for all shipment collections and deliveries and ensures that customer interactions are handled in a pro-active and professional manner at all times.
  • Packing - Prepares and packages of all specialist packaging and temperature controlled consignments of various temperature zones ensuring all mandatory procedures are adhered to. Re-packs and/or re-ice shipments where necessary and ensuring all mandatory procedures are adhered to.
  • Documentation - Ensures the correct documentation such as airway bill, delivery slips, and invoices are accurately completed and processed with the shipment. Be aware of the regulations covering the transportation, labelling and packaging of dangerous/hazardous substances and observe and comply with these regulations at all times. Completes necessary paperwork, including accurate logbooks, records of cargo and any other assigned record-keeping duties on a daily basis.
  • Loading/Unloading - Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on trucks, trailers, or railcars by hand or by forklift truck. When loading, ensures loads are evenly balanced and distributed from the front of the trailer to the back and from side to side, as well checks axle weights and loads them in accordance with the DOT regulations.
  • Warehouse - Performs all necessary duties to maintain a clean, tidy and safe warehouse, ensuring all materials are stored in the designated areas. Reports any shortfalls of packaging stock, to the appropriate person, to ensure minimal stock levels are always maintained. Ensures refridges, freezers and incubator/oven temperatures are checked and remain within prescribed parameters and maintain accurate records thereof.


Requirements:

Must-Have

  • Must hold a full, clean driving license
  • Must have commercial van/truck driving experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
