Job description

Job Title: Production & Supply Chain CoordinatorJob Description
The Production & Supply Chain Coordinator (Logistics Coordinator) manages assigned customer accounts and ensures seamless coordination between customers, production teams, suppliers, and internal departments. This role oversees order management, forecasting, inventory levels, material flow, and delivery performance from product launch through end-of-life. The coordinator serves as a key point of contact for customers, drives on-time delivery, and proactively resolves supply chain and logistics challenges in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary logistics contact for assigned customer accounts and build strong, professional relationships.
  • Receive, process, and manage customer production, service, and prototype orders from initial request through delivery.
  • Ensure accurate order entry, updates, and maintenance within the ERP system.
  • Learn, document, and maintain customer-specific requirements related to delivery, scheduling, and order processing.
  • Advocate for customer requirements while balancing company objectives and operational constraints.
  • Analyze customer demand, forecasts, production schedules, and engineering changes to support production planning activities.
  • Coordinate logistics support throughout the entire product lifecycle, from prototype development through mass production and end-of-life.
  • Monitor production schedules, inventory levels, and material flow to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate product launches and mass production build-outs in collaboration with manufacturing and other internal teams.
  • Support trial builds and prototype events with customers and manufacturing facilities, ensuring materials and logistics are in place.
  • Monitor customer forecast activity and identify significant demand fluctuations that may impact production or inventory.
  • Communicate forecast changes and demand requirements to appropriate internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure demand and forecast data is accurately maintained within company systems.
  • Monitor and maintain EDI transactions to ensure accurate and timely data exchange with customers and suppliers.
  • Investigate and resolve EDI-related issues and exceptions to prevent disruptions in order processing or shipping.
  • Support setup and maintenance of new products and customer requirements within ERP systems.
  • Track shipments and maintain accurate delivery records for all customer orders.
  • Ensure on-time delivery performance to customers by coordinating with production, logistics, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate resolution of delivery issues and supply chain disruptions, including expediting shipments when necessary.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, and operations teams to minimize obsolete inventory and material shortages.
  • Support international shipment activities and ensure compliance with customs documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate procurement activities for externally sourced or pass-through purchased materials and ensure timely delivery to support production requirements.
  • Investigate customer claims, concerns, and delivery issues, and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Participate in corrective action and continuous improvement efforts to enhance logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions related to logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving logistics performance, data accuracy, and communication.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports related to logistics performance, inventory, demand, and customer activity.
  • Analyze operational data and present findings using spreadsheets, charts, and reporting tools to support decision-making.
  • Attend and lead meetings as needed to review logistics performance, demand, and customer requirements.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, purchasing, production control, or material planning.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems for order management, forecasting, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and identify trends and issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving logistics and supply chain challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and related industry terminology.
  • Understanding of international shipping processes and import/export documentation requirements.
  • Experience working with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.

  • Associate degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in production control or material planning within automotive or related industries.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and participation in corrective action initiatives.
  • Comfort presenting data and findings using spreadsheets, charts, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with a standard Monday through Friday schedule on first shift, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position requires working onsite three days per week and remotely two days per week, with an expectation that the coordinator will start fully onsite for the first couple of weeks to support training and onboarding. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with regular interaction between logistics, production, purchasing, and customer service teams. ERP systems, EDI platforms, and Microsoft Office applications are used extensively for daily activities, reporting, and communication. Overtime is available and may be required based on business needs, with overtime hours compensated after 40 hours worked. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
