Job description

Job Summary:
In collaboration with other Logistics team members and local Construction Operations Leadership, the Logistics Supervisor oversees end-to-end fleet logistics, coordinating transportation, dispatch, and asset movement between fabrication shops, tool cribs, warehouses, and job sites. This role ensures on time, first-time-right delivery of tools, materials, and equipment while managing drivers, vendors, and real-time operational issues to fully support all field operations throughout the assigned regional area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and optimize all local hub trucking and transportation operations, ensuring maximum efficiency in route planning.
  • Act as the primary liaison between fabrication shops, tool cribs, and warehouses to synchronize loading schedules and material availability.
  • Guarantee a "right-the-first time, every-time" delivery standard, ensuring all payloads arrive at job sites strictly on schedule.
  • Coordinate the proper staging, securing, and dispatching of all assets, ranging from delicate tools to heavy construction equipment.
  • Manage internal drivers and third-party freight vendors, monitoring performance, compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Proactively identify transit bottlenecks, weather delays, or logistical conflicts, implementing rapid contingency plans to prevent field downtime.
  • Adhere to and promote company policies while instilling a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect within the department.
  • Continually evaluate all personnel to ensure safety habits, personal conduct, and performance are exceptional. 

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.): 

  • Proven track record as a Logistics or Transportation Manager, overseeing end-to-end fleet and dispatch operations, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or industrial fabrication environments.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a strong ability to resolve logistical disruptions, including transit delays, weather impacts, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Deep familiarity with San Leandro and Bay Area freight routes, traffic patterns, and commercial vehicle restrictions.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations, OSHA compliance, and load-binding safety standards.
  • Proficient with dispatching software, GPS tracking systems, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to bridge communication gaps, provide clear direction, and align shop foremen, warehouse crews, and field superintendents.
  • Thrives under pressure, maintaining professionalism, urgency, and accuracy in fast-paced conditions. 

Education and Experience: 
Required: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience managing asset staging, load planning, securing, and dispatching tools, fabricated materials, and heavy equipment
  • Experience managing drivers and third-party freight vendors, including performance oversight and compliance monitoring
  • Experience ensuring strict on-time delivery performance and execution standards for field operations

Travel Requirements:
Travel to other facilities/warehouse locations may be required 50% of the time.

Hours:
This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary for business needs

Competitive Wages:

$41.31 to $52.77 per hour.
