Logistics Operator
Schenectady/Glenville, NY
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with ability to work overtime before or after as needed and when needed
Pay: $20 /hour + $2k Sign on Bonus
As a Logistics Operator for dsm-firmenich, Health Nutrition and Care (HNC-Premix), you are responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and staging of raw materials and finished products. You will prepare goods to ship, load outbound trucks, unload inbound trucks, check goods in, and sample the inbound goods. You will utilize a Warehouse Management System to put away and pull products by specific locations in the warehouse.
The dsm-firmenich Health, Nutrition and Care (HNC) Business Unit in the North America Region has three premix manufacturing sites. This is where we produce liquids and dry blends for our dietary supplements, infant formula premixes and food.Schenectady is the largest site and is a focal point for the business performance in the region and globally.
If you can operate a Forklift safely, with a current Driver's license, have 2 years of warehouse experience, including staging, loading, unloading sampling, shipping and receiving and the ability to use a Warehouse Management system software, you may be a great fit!
Responsibilities:
  • Performs day-to-day duties of receiving materials and stock transfers; preparing shipments by palletizing, wrapping, labeling, etc: ensuring shipments include documentation.
  • Load and unload transport trucks.
  • Must be able to operate fork trucks safely.
  • Assists with accurate and timely inventory counts as requested.
  • Adjusts orders due to scheduling or shipping changes.
  • Raw material sampling.
  • Inspects inbound and outbound trucks and materials.
  • Maintains accurate and timely shipping and receiving records.
  • Comply with follow/comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety / regulatory requirements, and operational goals.

You bring:
  • High School diploma or equivalent. (GED)
  • 2+ years' experience in a warehouse role.
  • Forklift experience (Valid Driver's license).
  • Experience working with dietary supplements or other food ingredients a plus.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. as needed throughout the shift.
  • Warehouse software experience a plus along with basic computer skills.
  • Ability to travel between our Schenectady & Glenville warehouses.

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly $20/hour.
We are pleased to offer you a sign-on bonus in the amount of $2,000.00 (less taxes and other deductions required by law). The sign-on bonus will be paid to you in two installments, $1,000.00 (gross) in the first pay cycle following the completion of your 30 days of employment, $1,000.00 (gross) and in the first pay cycle following the completion of your third month of employment.
