Position Summary

Atlantic Plywood, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an experienced Sales Operations Manager to drive the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall success of the sales organization. This leadership role is responsible for optimizing sales processes, tools, data management, forecasting, performance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support revenue growth, operational excellence, and a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and foster a high-performing sales environment while ensuring the team operates within company guiding principles.
  • Review sales activities and identify opportunities to shift non-direct selling activities to selling functions.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage team goals related to sales performance, gross profit, inventory health, and OTIF (fill rate goals).
  • Coach, mentor, and develop sales team members to support individual and team performance goals.
  • Partner with the General Manager and COE of Sales to align initiatives, strategies, and market opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the sales team and purchasing department.
  • Research and resolve inventory issues, product availability questions, and outages to allow the sales team to remain focused on customer service and selling.
  • Deliver accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts to support purchasing and inventory planning.
  • Monitor inventory movement and trends to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Share local market intelligence with purchasing teams to improve product availability and responsiveness to customer demand.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory health, including slow-moving inventory programs, localized offerings, and inventory swap-out solutions.
  • Track key performance indicators that improve customer experience, including On Time in Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the sales team and logistics operations.
  • Partner with the logistics operations manager to resolve service issues such as mispicks, shipment damage, and delivery challenges.
  • Document and analyze service failures to identify root causes and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Work with logistics teams to maximize truck routing efficiency, delivery performance, and profitability.
  • Analyze sales metrics and market trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational optimization.
  • Ensure sales initiatives are executed effectively through collaboration with sales leadership and supporting departments.
  • Maintain accurate data within CRM and sales systems to support reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience in sales, sales operations management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, sales operations management, or a similar leadership role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a high-growth sales environment requiring collaboration, strategic thinking, and operational execution.
