Job Description
Welder - Elevated Tank Field Erection
Job Summary:
This position will perform the functions of a skilled welder. They will work from structure plans to weld various parts. Measure, cut, and join appropriate metals to specifications. use grinder to smooth and clean as appropriate.
Job Duties:
  • Perform tasks related to the erection phase of construction in a safe and efficient manner.
  • SMAW flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions - required
  • FCAW gas shielded and self-shielded wire flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions - required
  • Experience welding FCAW on ceramic backer.
  • Experience reading WPS
  • Experience welding and passing x-rays per AWWA D100, AWWA D107 and AWS D1.1 codes
  • Arc gouge flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions
  • Oxy/acetylene or oxy/propylene torch work
  • Ability to understand and interpret drawings and/or blueprints
  • Working at heights up to 300' above ground
  • Rigging knowledge associated with craning and hoisting activities
  • Signaling of cranes and other heavy construction equipment
  • Safe operation of construction tools and equipment

Required Qualifications
  • 2 to 5 years of similar experience and progressive responsibility
  • Must be able to travel frequently (42-plus weeks, annually) and work at heights
  • Must have valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Experience with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and industry standards
