Job description

TITLE: BI Architect II (Multiple Openings)

LOCATION: Charlotte, NC

JOB SUMMARY: Create solutions blueprints, high-level design and implementation strategies, and logical and physical data models for end-to-end business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing solutions. Translate business requirements and end user’s needs into architecture blueprints deliver cost effective, high performing, and high-quality BI solutions. Cross-reference diverse requirements from different verticals to coalesce requirements into standard scalable companywide catalog of metrics, BI data models, cubes, and reporting solutions. Architect, develop, implement, and support logical and physical data models for BI data repositories, including data movement infrastructures. Review upstream data source data models and assess/mitigate the impact on BI side for new integrations or changes. Develop road maps for BI applications, align development plans, and ensure effective integration to support end-to-end data solutions. Provide architectural expertise, thought leadership, direction, and assistance across entire BI organization. Participate in Architecture Review Board meetings. Review solutions presented by BI architects and provide constructive feedback. Define new architectural and data movement patterns. Define, implement, and promote BI architectural guidelines/standards, best practices, governing mechanisms, key processes, controls, and supporting tools. Ensure conceptual and architectural integrity of BI platforms and analytical solutions. Diagnose highly complex issues and evaluate, recommend, and execute best resolution spanning multiple tiers in the BI/DW technology stack. Advise on allocation of budget to meet BI architectural initiatives critical to business success. Contribute to the execution of proofs-of-concept for new approaches and platforms through research of trends and technological innovations in BI, data warehousing and analytics space. Identify tools and components used within the domain based on the enterprise toolset and define exceptions. Work in a data warehousing environment and databases including AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Teradata, Netezza, DB2, or SQL Server. Support data warehouse architecture including data sourcing/acquisition, integration, transformation, and presentation using technologies including SQL Stored Procedures, Shell Scripts, and Python. Develop and implement complex SQL on MPP platforms including AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Teradata Vantage. Translate business requirements into solution blueprints. Support logical and physical database design for data warehousing including 3NF and Star Schemas using Erwin, Vision, or similar leading data modeling tools. Develop roadmaps, standards, guideline, and principles for BI architecture.

 
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. 5 years of experience in: data warehousing environment and databases including experience in at least one of the following: AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Teradata, Netezza, DB2, or SQL Server; and data warehouse architecture including data sourcing/acquisition, integration, transformation, and presentation using technologies including SQL Stored Procedures, Shell Scripts, and Python. 3 years of experience: developing and implementing complex SQL on MPP platforms including at least one of the following: AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Teradata Vantage; and translating business requirements into solution blueprints. 2 years of experience in: logical and physical database design for data warehousing including 3NF and Star Schemas using Erwin or Vision; and developing roadmaps, standards, guidelines, and principles for BI architecture.

Hybrid arrangement is available.

10% domestic travel required.
