Vantor is seeking a motivated Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of automated monitoring, metrics data collection, and real time dashboards within a mission-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Linux-based systems, scripting with Bash, and building operational dashboards using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). This role is well-suited for a junior to mid-level engineer looking to expand their automation and observability expertise while supporting critical national security missions. Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation solutions in Linux environments.
* Create and enhance Bash scripts to automate system administration, application log gathering, metrics displays.
* Develop and maintain job orchestration tools for data flows
* Design, build, and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Kibana.
* Support Elasticsearch data ingestion, indexing, and search optimization activities.
* Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
* Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and mission stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions.
* Assist with log analysis, troubleshooting, and operational reporting.
* Document automation processes, procedures, and technical configurations.
* Participate in system testing, deployment, and sustainment activities.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives related to monitoring, observability, and automation. Required Qualifications * Active TS/SCI security clearance.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Security+ Certification
* 2-5 years of experience in systems engineering, automation, DevOps, software development or related technical roles.
* Experience working with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
* Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
* Experience with the ELK Stack, including: * Elasticsearch
* Kibana dashboard development
* Logstash or data ingestion pipelines
* Familiarity with system monitoring, log aggregation, and operational analytics.
* Understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, and troubleshooting methodologies.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
* Experience supporting cloud or hybrid environments.
* Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
* Experience working in DoD, Intelligence Community, or other classified environments.
