Your Impact
This position involves planning and overseeing quality and production improvements, using verification and production ramp-up of tooling and equipment involved in assemble of the instruments, controls and monitors used in the Electric Utility Transmission and Distribution Industry.
Here's where you'll demonstrate your competencies:
  • Investigates, analyzes, develops, and determines processes and process improvements for new and existing products.

  • Plans equipment layout and workflow to maintain safe and efficient utilization of plant resources.

  • Coordinates Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities with special emphasis on RBS (Ralliant Business System) principles that include standard work, one-piece flow, visual controls,5S, and variability reduction.

  • Lead and assist in the development of new methods, tooling, test systems, and machine designs that reduce cycle time and improve productivity and quality.

  • Lead and assist in the planning and performance, research, design and development of manufacturing engineering projects.

  • Ownership of troubleshooting internal and external quality issues by performing root cause analysis (RCA, 5 Why, 8D) and driving corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)

  • Performs duties in accordance with established quality standards.

  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required.

  • Actively support Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • BS Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated analytical/statistical problem-solving skills. Familiarity with statistical methods and software (Minitab, JMP, etc.).

  • Proficient in database tools and ability to use programing language for modifying/maintaining databases and reporting purposes.

  • Proven experience in process improvement, problem solving, and knowledge of process control methodologies such as DMAIC, Six Sigma, Lean, and SPC

  • DFM and/or Lean production flow knowledge.

  • Must be very proficient using spreadsheets to aid analysis.

  • Working knowledge of Lab View and SolidWorks is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO9001) and quality tools (MSA, R&R, PFMEA).

  • Hands-on ability to solve tooling and equipment challenges.

  • Ability to integrate and work well in a team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to provide positive, consistent communication with associates throughout the organization.

  • Organized, self directed, and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Experience integrating automation technology and vision systems a plus.

  • CAPEX project management experience
  • PLC programming experience

  • Driven to get results and make impactful change

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills. Comfortable working on the shop floor and with cross functional team
