LOCUM Pathologist - Syracuse, New York
Hospital-Based Lab | 3-6 Month Coverage | No Call
365 Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist for a hospital-based locum assignment in Syracuse, New York. This opportunity is due to a staffing shortage and offers structured weekday coverage with no call requirement.
Initial coverage is anticipated for 3 to 6 months.
Schedule Model
• Monday-Friday
• 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• No call requirement
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 40-45 days
Practice Overview
• Hospital-based pathology laboratory
• Laboratory certifications: CLIA and NYS
• Level III Trauma Center
• EMR: EPIC / Beaker
Team Structure:
• 4 Pathologists
• 5 Histotechnologists
• 1 Pathology Assistant
• 2 Cytotechnologists
• Other pathologists present during coverage
Equipment includes:
• ThinPrep Integrated Imager (Hologic)
• Cryostat - Avantik QS12UV / QS II
• Microscopes - Nikon Eclipse E400, Olympus BX41
Clinical Scope
• General Anatomic Pathology
• Surgical Pathology (approx. 13,000 specimens annually)
• Cytology (approx. 3,000 specimens annually)
• Frozen section analysis
• Grossing own specimens
• Cutting own frozen sections on cryostat
• GYN cytology (Cytology proficiency exam required)
• ThinPrep preparation method
No supervision of other providers required.
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology
• Active New York State license
• NPDB Self-Query (within current month)
• Ability to independently gross specimens and perform frozen sections
