Precision Printing That Powers Packaging

Step into a hands-on role where precision meets production. As a Flexo Press Operator, you’ll operate and maintain press equipment to deliver high-quality results from start to finish. This is an on-site role located in Joppa, MD, and perfect for someone who enjoys working directly with equipment and seeing the impact of their work in real time.

Your tasks

  • Read job orders and mount specified flexographic plates and printing dies onto cylinders; install and secure assemblies in the appropriate press station
  • Fill ink pans with the required inks and mix colors to meet job specifications
  • Load paper or plastic rolls onto the press, secure in feed position, and splice rolls to existing material as needed
  • Set and regulate roll tension and feed; start press and adjust speed, pressure, and plate alignment for optimal performance
  • Engage ink rolls and adjust cylinder positioning to ensure accurate multi-color registration without smearing or overlap
  • Inspect printed samples for quality, identifying issues such as blurred or off-center impressions
  • Install rotary cutting dies manually or with a portable lift
  • Record daily production data in the printing management system

Your profile

  • 2+ years of flexographic printing (flexo) experience preferred; strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience operating Mark Andy presses
  • Proven background in printing/press operations, including mounting plates, installing cylinders, and setting up print stations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain press equipment
  • Experience with ink systems, including mixing inks to achieve desired colors and managing ink pans
  • Ability to set up and run press operations (tension, speed, pressure, alignment) to ensure high-quality output
  • Skilled in quality inspection, identifying defects such as off-center or blurred impressions, and making necessary adjustments
  • Experience handling roll-fed materials (paper/plastic), including loading, splicing, and feeding rolls into the press
  • Familiarity with installing and adjusting rotary cutting dies (manual and lift-assisted)
  • Ability to register multi-color print
  • Comfortable recording production data in a printing management system
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to safety and quality standards
