Emergency Medicine Physician - Locum Position in North Adams, MA
Join a dedicated team at a well-respected medical center seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician. This locum opportunity involves working between two facilities, providing critical care in a dynamic environment. North Adams Hospital features a trauma level of 3, with 32 beds and an annual ER volume of 55,000 patients. The practice utilizes Meditech for electronic medical records and offers a supportive environment with excellent APP coverage.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide emergency medical care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Float between Berkshire Medical Center and North Adams Hospital.
  • Work primarily night shifts, with options for 12, 8, and 11-hour shifts.
  • Ensure thorough communication and collaboration with hospitalist and admitting services for patient admissions.
  • Supervise paramedics and ambulance services via radio.
  • Maintain a response time of 30 minutes for on-call duties as per hospital bylaws.
  • Participate in monitoring ED patients, with an average admission rate of 30% per day.
Qualifications:
  • Active Massachusetts medical license (highly preferred).
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; ATLS certification also necessary.
  • ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency).
  • Clean background for swift credentialing.
  • Local candidates preferred; no need for flight arrangements.
  • Self-Query NPDB (to be pulled within the month) at time of presentation.
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Must hold a current Massachusetts medical license.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and ATLS are required.
  • ABEM Board Certification/Eligibility required.
