Job Title: Machinist-Bench

Job Schedule: 2nd Shift 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off

 

Job Description:

We are seeking a Machinist-Bench to join our facility in Canoga Park Ca (Los Angeles area). Union position 2nd shift.

Enjoy work/life balance at our Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area) site.  At this facility, we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASA's SLS, Lockheed Martin's THAAD, Sierra Nevada's Dream Chaser, and the Mars Perseverance Rover.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Complete/check/rework and burr sheet metal and machined parts, assemblies and extrusions using various types of machines and mechanics' hand tools
  • Determine dimensions, angles, tolerances and finishes by interpreting information from planning documents, drawings, blueprints, manuals and engineering orders.
  • Layout holes, locations, constant radii cutouts, step cuts, seal grooves and mold lines.
  • Select, set up, and operate power hand controlled tools to complete deburring operations or to rework and repair damaged or improperly machines parts fabricated from various metals.
  • Machine, drill, grind, file, ream, face, tap, cut, and lap machined parts and assemblies to required shape and dimension
  • Set up and operate roto-finishing equipment to grind, hone and polish, selecting proper abrasives, compounds and liquids to achieve required finish.
  • Verify accuracy of parts, assemblies and extrusions prior to company inspection using precision measuring instruments.
  • Record manufacturing data on computer.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, GD&T, specifications, MOR Books, sketches, engineering orders, work instructions

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred with 3- 5 years of experience in related field
