Department Overview

McDonald's Global Business Services - Change & Organization Activation COE is seeking an experienced Sr Manager, Trainingto lead holistic training design and execution for the Future of Marketing Program. McDonald's is evolving its global marketing model to be more connected, efficient, and effective, with greater emphasis on data, measurement, and decision support. As part of this effort, McDonald's is establishing a Future of Marketing team to define how marketing capabilities, processes, and ways of working will evolve over time. The team will help the business better leverage scale, improve consistency across markets, and strengthen the overall effectiveness of marketing investments.

This role reports to the Director of Learning & Development, Change & Organization Activation COE, with matrixed alignment to program leadership. They will be accountable for managing a team of vendors, contract partners, and a planned direct report.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategy, framework, and roadmap for learning activities, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities. This role requires strong collaboration with key stakeholders across functions and regions, as well as third-party vendors. This individual will work cross-functionally to understand the current talent landscape and identify critical gaps and requirements for the marketing function of the future.

Duties

What will you do?

Lead learning strategy, design, and execution to support large, complex change-management projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Strategic L&D Transformation: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive upskilling and capability-building programs specifically tailored to drive the successful adoption of the Future of Marketing (FOM) operating model, processes, and technology initiatives.
  • Manage End-to-End Deployment: Oversee the global rollout of learning initiatives, ensuring robust product ownership, localization support, documentation, and seamless change management integration.
  • Build Capability Frameworks: Develop strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps that bridge the gap between current capabilities and future organizational requirements, prioritizing methods and modalities based on business priorities.
  • Team & Vendor Leadership: Manage a hybrid team consisting of contract partners, external vendors, and a planned direct report. Guide third-party vendors from strategic design through global deployment to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Influence: Partner closely with marketing leadership, Future of Marketing team, Change & Organization Activation COE, and cross-functional teams to gather strategic input, surface trade-offs, and ensure learning strategies support McDonald's broader transformation objectives.
  • Drive Data-Backed Insights: Unite Change Readiness success metrics with L&D's Global Measurement & Analytics strategy. Define KPIs, evaluate training efficacy, monitor adoption, and continuously optimize learning solutions based on audience feedback (e.g., NPS insights, CAMPUS metrics).
  • Strategic Planning: Support the Director in building a multi-year Learning & Development strategy for the Change & Organization Activation COE that aligns with evolving enterprise priorities.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related discipline required; Master's preferred.

Minimum Required Skills

  • Learning & Development Expertise: 8+ years of experience in learning strategy, organizational development, or workforce planning roles. Proven ability to simplify complex learning processes and lead through ambiguity.
  • Transformation & Change Acumen: Deep experience in learning strategy, instructional design, systems/technology, and process training for large-scale, enterprise-wide transformation efforts.
  • Organizational Priorities Focused: Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategic business goals into targeted talent programs that balance rapidly evolving organizational needs.
  • Leadership & Matrix Management: Exceptional communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills from entry-level staff to executive leadership. Substantive experience managing direct reports, cross-functional teams, and external vendor partners.
  • Insight-Driven Mindset: Highly analytical approach with a track record of defining success metrics, utilizing data to monitor outcomes, and continuously improving program execution.

Preferred Skills

  • Marketing Domain Knowledge: Previous experience working within or partnering closely with a global marketing function. Familiarity with modern marketing capabilities, data analytics, and performance measurement.
  • Multi-Wave Transformation Execution: Experience driving phased rollouts, managing interim states, executing parallel migrations, optimizing based on lessons learned, and sustaining learner engagement over long-term transitions.
  • Platform- & Product-Led Expertise: Understanding of how enterprise platforms reshape team roles, behaviors, ownership models, and user expectations.
  • Experience-Led Service Design: Capability to translate user personas, learner journeys, and specific audience needs into highly targeted, effective adoption strategies.
Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is$130,434.00 -$163,042.00per year
