Position Overview
The Globalization Operations Specialist works closely with the members of the Global Communications amp; Design team and its clients across the organization to ensure that localization, design, and editing projects are optimally set up, supported throughout their implementation, and delivered to requesters in a timely manner. This role requires expertise in localization project management, and devotes a significant amount of time to working with the various technological tools and platforms needed to complete and deliver localization projects. Requiring constant, real-time coordination with clients and team members, this person combines technological expertise and problem-solving acumen with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Work Arrangement
This position is designated as Fully Remote and may be required to work from world headquarters or another location on an ad hoc basis for meetings, training, etc., as determined by management. For positions classified as Fully Remote, an employee may, with express written permission, reside in/work from one of the approved states where Rotary is registered as an employer, which currently includes: IL, CA, IN, OR, LA, NC, MN, WI, TN, TX, MI, GA, VA, MA, RI, AZ, WA and FL.
You Will Have
  • Professional proficiency in English (multilingual skills preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in localization project implementation and management
  • Proven expertise as a project manager and administrator across multiple CAT tools, including strong command of linguist-facing functionality
  • Proven expertise with translation technologies, including translation memory, terminology management, machine-translation, and AI-enabled localization tools
  • Strong working knowledge of markup and localization file formats, including HTML, XML, and XLIFF
  • Experience implementing and configuring CAT tool migrations, integrations, and workflow automation
  • Familiarity with content management systems, learning management systems, email marketing software, and other content-related platforms
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly understand new platforms and systems
  • Strong ability to work effectively with common source document formats used in localization, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files
  • Strong project management, organizational, and process-execution skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically to participate in team integration at headquarters

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Setting up localization, interpretation, and editing projects for successful execution according to their unique requirements, including identifying appropriate workflows and necessary integrations
  • Communicating with requesters to support planning, gather necessary reference materials, resolve questions, adjust timelines/priorities, and follow up on delivery issues
  • Implementing MTPE workflows and completing related preflight and postflight tasks
  • Performing source quality improvement (SQI), including CAT tool segmentation adjustment, document cleanup, and AI-assisted text correction
  • Maintaining translation memories, term bases, LQA rules, and other linguistic assets
  • Implementing and configuring localization tools, platforms, integrations, and AI-enabled applications
  • Working closely with the Manager of Localization to support workflow routing, resource assignment, and project coordination
  • Supporting the Manager of Globalization Operations in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Collecting data and preparing reports on core operational activities
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and supporting team members in their daily use of translation technologies and content platforms
  • Occasionally working outside of regular business hours or on weekends, as assigned, to support communications plans or Rotary events
  • Supporting design project coordination as needed
