PURPOSE:

Lead associates in a specific shift/area while supervising warehouse operations to ensure functions are performed within Company and Distribution Center guidelines. Provide excellent customer service to stores serviced through accurate handling of inbound and outbound product. 
 

Main responsibilities:

  • Coach and engage hourly associates towards high productivity, safety, and quality performance
  • Develop and demonstrate effective leadership skills and tactics during day to day operation
  • Motivate associates through positive reinforcement and behavior
  • Promote a safety culture by example, observation feedback and associate relations
  • Coordinate with peer leaders to balance the workflow of the Distribution Center  
  • Make and support decisions that are consistent with the local union labor agreement
  • Walk the warehouse on a regular basis throughout the shift to ensure compliance on sanitation and quality expectations
  • Maintain visibility to associates in support of our Open Door Policy
  • Leverage technology systems to investigate operational issues
  • Coordinate weekly associate work schedules
  • Maintain open and constant communication with the Transportation Department to facilitate inbound/outbound flow of product
  • Coordinate with other cross functional departments (To include Inventory Control, Procurement, Building Maintenance, Sanitation, etc.) 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Possess strong knowledge of warehouse operations, with prior work experience to include leadership roles
  • Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to generate, read, and interpret computerized reports
  • Ability to juggle operational and administrative tasks and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to concentrate and focus while dealing with frequent interruptions
  • Basic computer skills required, especially experience in Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems
