This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building partnerships, uncovering new business opportunities, and helping organizations bring their meetings, conferences, trainings, and special events to life. As a Sales Manager, you'll serve as a key ambassador for our hotel while contributing directly to the success of one of Eastern Iowa's premier hospitality destinations.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Annual Salary: $65,000-$75,000, commensurate with experience

  • Eligible for quarterly sales incentive plan         

  • Overtime Eligible Management (OEM) position

  • Typical schedule averages approximately 45 hours per week, with flexibility required to support client and business needs

What You'll Do

As a Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for generating group business, developing client relationships, and driving revenue through strategic sales efforts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prospect, solicit, and develop new business opportunities through phone calls, emails, networking, referrals, and outside sales calls
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing client relationships
  • Conduct hotel site tours and showcase guest rooms, meeting space, ballrooms, and hotel amenities
  • Develop and present proposals, contracts, and pricing packages tailored to client needs
  • Represent Hyatt Regency Coralville at community events, networking functions, trade shows, and industry organizations
  • Collaborate with Events, Banquets, Revenue Management, and Operations teams to ensure a seamless client experience
  • Maintain accurate account information, activity tracking, and sales pipeline reporting
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, forecasting, and strategic planning discussions
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals and revenue objectives
  • Communicate client expectations and event details to internal teams
  • Build long-term relationships that generate repeat business and client loyalty
  • Stay informed on local market trends, competitive activity, and emerging business opportunities
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
