POSITION SUMMARY

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for achieving budgeted event revenue goals for all event space rentals, as well as ensuring a best-in-class client experience. Primary tasks include identifying and connecting with potential clients, leading tours of campus, negotiating contracts, working with wedding and corporate planners on full event details and floor plans and execution of private events. This position is part of the food/beverage team and will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Include, but are not limited to)

  • In collaboration with the marketing department, create and implement sales strategies to drive revenue for Peace Center Special Events (including but not limited to weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, etc.)
  • Be familiar with the competitive set and conduct market research to ensure competitive pricing within the events space.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all inbound inquiries and requests about space.
  • Schedule and conduct tours for prospective clients for all private rented spaces as well as all designs meetings for current clients.
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure client’s needs are met.
  • Leverage industry knowledge to create comprehensive proposals based on client discussions and anticipated needs.
  • Execute all contracts for private events and act as a main resource through booking, planning, and follow-up.
  • Handle all financial payments from deposits to detailing final balance and collecting final payments.
  • Work closely with wedding or corporate planner to have full required details of event and communicate those details to event manager for proper execution.
  • Maintain campus and client-facing calendars with up-to-date private event booking information.
  • Initiate and nurture relationships throughout the community, including clients, vendors, event planners, local companies/organizations and community partners.
  • Actively participate in community programs, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Work closely with the F&B operations staff and other Peace Center departments to ensure events are planned and executed in an efficient manner, and that customer expectations are exceeded, at every step of the process.
  • Work with the city and permit all roads needed for events.
  • Plan, design and execute given internal special events.
  • Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES (Include, but are not limited to)

  • A bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 4-5 years of Sales and/or event experience.
  • Outgoing, motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Leader, self-starter, problem-solver with strong communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Team player and collaborator.
  • Excellent customer service skills, and a passion for Hospitality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Tripleseat program.
  • Available to work an irregular schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
