Job Summary
The Road Construction Superintendent - Road & Civil Work is the primary on-site leader responsible for the daily execution of heavy civil projects, roadway, site work, and excavation for the Sarasota/Naples/Okeechobee area. This position could lead to complex projects and growth in 2026.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Site Supervision: Direct and coordinate field crews and diverse subcontractors (grading, paving, concrete) to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Scheduling & Logistics: Develop "lookahead" schedules and coordinate the timely delivery of heavy equipment, tools, and materials (asphalt, gravel, pipe).
  • Quality Control: Inspect work in progress to ensure it strictly conforms to blueprints, technical specifications, and municipal codes.
  • Safety Enforcement: Facilitate site-specific safety programs, conduct weekly "toolbox talks," and ensure 100% compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Daily Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of workforce numbers, weather conditions, equipment usage, and project progress.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the on-site point of contact for project managers, engineers, clients, and local officials.
