Job description

Position Overview: The Bottle Server at Voltaire, an upscale nightlife venue within The Venetian Resort, plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience through top-tier beverage service. The Bottle Server will efficiently take and deliver beverage and food orders, provide an elevated level of guest service, collaborate with bartenders, handle financial transactions accurately, and always maintain a polished and professional demeanor. This role requires multitasking abilities, calmness under pressure, and a commitment to upholding the venue's standards of service and conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

•       Provide an elevated guest experience, actively seeking opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction with excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly and professional demeanor.

•       Manage multiple tasks and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.

•       Handle financial transactions accurately and effectively during shifts.

•       Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all orders to each table.

•       Collaborate closely with bartenders to ensure order accuracy and seamless service.

•       Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of house drinks and menu items.

•       Utilize suggestive selling techniques to promote daily specials, cocktails, wines, and after-dinner beverages.

•       Drive initiatives to achieve financial goals by identifying up-selling opportunities.

•       Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

•       Be willing to engage in choreographed movement in the space[JC1] 

•       Prioritize safety as an essential aspect of the job.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a Health card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, and any other required certifications or licenses.
  • Three (3) years of cocktail service experience in a high-volume, cash-handling setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of beverages, including high-end wines/champagnes, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
  • Familiarity with customer ordering practices for beers, wines, and spirits.
  • Proficiency in operating the POS system for accurate and efficient transactions.
  • Superior customer service skills with confidence in a guest-facing role.
  • Professional and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills, cash handling, and making accurate change.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse guests and team members.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Navigate all areas of the property.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Stand, walk, stretch, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Work indoors, exposed to various environmental factors like noise and smoke.
