Job description

Job Summary:

The Web and Applications Support Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing management of internal and external websites, including SharePoint environments. In addition to creative web development, this position manages the implementation and lifecycle support of client-specific business applications. Acting as a project lead for new solution rollouts, the specialist ensures effective planning, configuration, training, and post-deployment support to meet operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Web Design and Management

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal and public-facing websites using modern web standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Collaborate with departments to create site structures, implement content, and provide visually compelling and functional designs.
  • Monitor web performance, apply SEO and analytics tools, and ensure website security and compliance.

SharePoint Development and Support

  • Create and manage SharePoint Online sites, lists, document libraries, permissions, and automated workflows.
  • Partner with departments to design intuitive intranet solutions and improve internal collaboration tools.
  • Provide training, documentation, and user support for SharePoint features and enhancements.

Application Implementation and Support

  • Serve as project manager for the implementation of client-specific applications, coordinating planning, configuration, user testing, and go-live activities.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for implemented applications, providing tier 2/3 support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to ensure application reliability, scalability, and user satisfaction.
  • Develop documentation, training materials, and support procedures for end-users and IT staff.

Customer Website and Application Support

  • Provide support and updates for hosted customer websites, including content management, design revisions, and backend maintenance.
  • Ensure that customer-facing sites meet branding, accessibility, and usability standards.
  • Manage customer-specific tools or portal integrations as needed.


Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Web Design, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in web development, SharePoint administration, or application support.
  • Experience managing technology projects, including implementation timelines, stakeholder coordination, and post-launch support.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online/365 site creation and management.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.


Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG/ADA) standards and SEO best practices.
  • Experience with help desk ticketing systems and ITIL-style support practices.
  • Background in vendor management or contract coordination for SaaS products.


Work Environment:

  • Office setting with a moderate noise level.
  • The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.
