Position Summary:
Benco's Design team provides schematic plans, equipment plans and construction details for dental practices nationwide. The Drafter will work as part of a collaborative design team by providing drafting support for as-built drawings, x-ray shielding plans and Dental Construction Documents. Dental Construction Documents to include detailed dental equipment plans as well as construction details for plumbing, electrical and carpentry. This position will also maintain the department's library of dental equipment symbols and details by coordinating with manufacturers, sourcing AutoCAD blocks and Revit families, and creating new ones as needed based on manufacturer specifications.

  • Convert existing plans, which may be scanned or hand-drawn, into AutoCAD/Revit format
  • Prepare Dental Construction Documents including equipment plans, electrical, plumbing and carpentry details
  • Prepare shielding plans for imaging equipment
  • Participate in peer review process for quality assurance
  • Stay up-to-date on dental equipment lines
  • Maintain library of technical drawing symbols for dental equipment, creating new AutoCAD blocks and Revit & TwinMotion families as needed
  • Assist with software implementation initiatives, including the development and maintenance of team standards
  • Maintain openness to feedback, coaching and guidance on as-built plans, dental construction documents, drafting standards and equipment knowledge; demonstrate application of feedback

Do YOU Meet These Requirements?
  • Associate's Degree Architectural Drafting or Technical Drafting, Preferred
  • 1-3 years Experience in the architecture or design field, Required
  • Strong AutoCad and MS Office knowledge and experience (Medium proficiency)
  • Strong Revit knowledge and experience (Medium proficiency)
  • Basic knowledge of building codes (Medium proficiency)
  • Basic understanding of construction methods / detailing (Medium proficiency)
