Class A CDL Dump Truck Driver / Laborer
Asphalt & Concrete Restoration
Location: Milton, WA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $31.00 - $39.00 per hour*
Compensation is based on relevant dump truck driving experience, construction experience, qualifications, and certifications.
Cannon Companies is growing our Asphalt & Concrete Restoration team and is looking for a dependable, safety-minded Class A CDL Dump Truck Driver who takes pride in their equipment, their work, and supporting their crew.
This is not an over-the-road driving position. Driving is your primary responsibility, but when the truck is parked, you'll work alongside the restoration crew completing asphalt and concrete restoration projects that support Cannon's utility construction operations.

What You'll Do
  • Safely operate dump trucks on public roads, construction sites, and active work zones
  • Haul asphalt, aggregate, rock, excavated material, concrete debris, and other construction materials
  • Back, position, and maneuver trucks safely in tight or active jobsite environments
  • Ensure loads are properly secured, contained, and tarped when required
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Report vehicle issues, delays, safety concerns, and project impacts promptly
  • Keep trucks clean, fueled, and ready for operation
  • Work with the asphalt and concrete crew when driving duties are not active, including:
    • Shoveling and raking
    • Material staging
    • Site cleanup
    • General labor tasks within training and qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Driving record that meets company and insurance requirements
  • Ability to pass Cannon's driver qualification and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
  • Current medical certification when required, or ability to obtain before driving
  • Previous commercial driving experience
  • Ability and willingness to perform both driving and labor responsibilities
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around traffic, heavy equipment, hot asphalt, and active construction environments
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dump truck or construction hauling experience
  • Experience hauling asphalt, aggregates, rock, excavated material, or concrete debris
  • Experience operating in traffic-controlled work zones
  • Asphalt, concrete, utility, excavation, or civil construction experience
  • Familiarity with asphalt plants, gravel pits, or concrete facilities
  • Current Flagger Certification
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification
