Position Description
The Construction Laborer is responsible for performing general construction, concrete removal, and interior demolition tasks in support of field operations. This includes operating basic power tools, driving company trucks, and assisting equipment operators or working independently on-site. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in physically demanding environments.
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the local Laborers union. Will be required to join the union and maintain membership in good standing. Current Laborers union members welcome to apply. Pay rate is union scale.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist saw operators with cutting tasks and remove concrete and asphalt using tools such as burke bars, jackhammers, or two-wheel dollies.
  • Perform demolition work, including removing drywall, metal/wood stud walls, drop ceilings, pipes, and conduit.
  • Work with crews or independently to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately read and interpret job tickets, safety plans, and complete daily job safety pre-task plans.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with dispatch and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for tools and equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety and OSHA standards.
  • Travel as needed for out-of-town assignments on occasion.

Position Requirements
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with clean driving record-no citations, tickets, accidents, points, DUI, etc.
  • Commercial driver's license and valid medical card highly desired and gets you priority interview status.
  • Valid OSHA 10 or OHSA 30 highly desired and gets you priority interview status.
  • 2-5 years of experience working in a construction or demolition company
  • Experience using pneumatic and electric jackhammers, rivet busters, and power tools.
  • Strong verbal communication and understanding of job site documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in challenging conditions.

  • Proficient with computers and mobile devices (iPhone and iPad), knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, internet browsers and Windows
