Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using power tools; install framing, and seal joints between plasterboard or other wallboard to prepare wall surface for painting or papering. Demolition of existing structures, assisting in the concrete work of new structures, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, aiding in traffic control and assisting in material handling throughout the job site.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Designs, constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete and brick.
  2. Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
  3. Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  4. Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level. Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
  5. Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
  6. Assemble or install metal framing or decorative trim for windows, doorways, or vents.
  7. Cut and screw together metal channels to make floor or ceiling frames, according to plans for the location of rooms or hallways.
  8. Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
  9. Perform variety of tasks that require utilizing various tools, such as demolishing buildings, dismantling forms, setting up pumps and hoses, removing projections from concrete and cleaning tools and equipment as needed
  10. Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery
  11. Level earth to fine grade specifications
  12. Transport, pour, vibrate, and grade concrete into existing formwork
  13. Maintain a clean and safe worksite by sweeping, picking up debris, transporting tools/equipment, dumping debris, removing snow, maintaining perimeter fall protection, or any other assignments.
  14. Assist in worksite safety by installing and removing barricades, setting up road signage, flagging and assisting with rigging items to crane as needed
  15. Perform final and general clean-up of a space including mopping, dusting, removal of floor protection, etc.
  1. Pumping water out of excavations to designated discharge points, including managing hoses, extension cords & generators.
  2. Setting up and maintaining stormwater pollution prevention measures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Proficiency in operating skid steer or telehandler.
  2. Must successful complete essential physical functions evaluation and drug and alcohol testing as coordinated by employer.
